Priscilla’s Magic Book
A story by me.
Little Priscilla was as bright as a star and as sweet as berry pie. She was full with bliss and joy, especially when playing came along. She could be humble and kind, but naughty some of the time. For the best day to happen, she only needed her strongest asset: a curious mind full of imagination. She used that imagination to dive into all kinds of stories full of fantasy, magic and wild adventures! There was no book on her way that would go unred.
She lived in her grandma's house, since her parents were long gone, before she could remember their faces. But even so young, she knew they would meet again. They had probably gone on a dangerous adventure and come back someday, full of stories and presents for their little girl. Grandma let her have her thoughts, as, so to speak, they had gone on a mysterious adventure, in their own way.

Little Priscilla never lost hope, but every other day felt some sadness here and there. Grandma didn't wish for Priscilla’s spirit to blurr.
Until....an idea dropped!
One day, at dusk, while looking through her books and relics, she found the perfect story. She called Priscilla to join her next to the fire and gave her a beautiful red velvet book, with golden decorations in the corners.
She told her grandaughter: “This belonged to me when I was your age. This is no ordinary book. There is magic hidden in it and you just need to find it.”.
Priscilla did not understand. When she asked, granny looked at her, with her wise old eyes, and replied: “Don’t rush, my love. Just enjoy what you have. The past is gone and tomorrow hasn't yet come. Today is a gift, so go and have fun!”

Priscilla took ther, quite heavy, precious book up the stairs to her
bedroom. She was ecstatic to find out if it was truly magical! What type of stories could there be? Would there be dragons? Fairies? Or maybe a warrior princess with a bow.
The book did look very old. Its velvet was soft... and it smelled a bit odd! Like her granny when she cooked onion soup. It was so heavy that Priscilla thought an entire world existed inside it. Although she loved her books, and this one seemed promising, she did not know how it could make her feel well.
At least it could be another story, to go far away. She then opened the book, which read The Magic Kingdom...
...and nothing else!
Disappointed, she closed the book, her eyes full with tears, and went straight to bed.
After a while, a noise woke her up. Scared, she turned her gaze around. Her room was not there, or anywhere!
What surrounded her, was an incredible land, full of fable creatures: Fairies, winced animals, dwarfs, dragons, a warrior prince... and a warrior princess! They all welcomed Priscilla to The Magic Kingdom. One of the fairies came close to her, her wings flipping like a hummingbird, and said: We knew you would come, why don't we go and play around?"
And play they did! She had never been so happy as on that day. When the time for goobyes came, she was a tad sad but ready to return.

“Will you stay with me forever?” Priscilla asked with an innocent gaze. “No, my dear." The same fairy said. "But you can come back whenever you need us. Today was a gift and we had a blast. Enjoy while it lasts and until next time.”
Priscilla woke up with a smile on her cheecks and the morning sun soft on her face. Her book lay open at her feet on the bed. Her grandma was always right. She got up and went on to enjoy her day, as a gift for herself.
