Winter

by Olivia H.

Never a promise
Nor I asked for one
Tho I did wait
For winter again

I’m messing my head up
I constantly feel you
I can always see you

I hold tight to this
I thought, for a second
Feelings did echoed

I should hold no more
Let go thoughts and hopes
They've hurt far too long

Never a promise
Nor I asked for one
All we could live
Was a short winter fling

You'll never know
The mess you provoked
An illusion, or more

No promise, no need
I fell for you still
Gentle and sweet

Now I shall move on
And never look back
For that could just be
A short winter fling
