The Child

by Olivia H.

You think you know,
You think you care.
As true as it may be,
You're not there to see.
I know how it feels
I know how it's been
Be damn sure I know,
Mr. Know-it-all.
So old and wise,
While I'm just a child.
Lost in the wild,
Lost in the dark.
Watch the child!
So little and young,
Naïve and blunt
Please, open your mind
You may understand
This child can be wild,
Or lost, but in charge.
Don’t push me down
Cause I won’t take it
I know what to do
No need to unsettle
Give me a chance!
I can be smart,
I can be bright.
I know that..... I can.
